Zainab Sule at the Women2Kilimanjaro Event, Arusha, Tanzania

So.. this past week, we had one of the coolest gigs, performing at the Rural Women’s Mass Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania from Oct 14-16. I had a few reservations before leaving though, because I felt – quite wrongly – that they wouldn’t know rock music. But boy, was I surprised. In more ways than one…

The very aim of the event was to support the women fighting for their land and needing the government to do something about it. Read more about it on Ben Phillip’s Blog here.

And yes, I had never been to an African Country before asides my own, so this was a first. 🙂
